Deputy CEO – $5bn AUM Hedge Fund – Management Consultant/MBA required – 300k package

An established, successful, multi-billion dollar AUM European Hedge Fund are searching for a newly created deputy CEO hire.
The role has been created on the back of large recent AUM growth, in addition to the firm’s plans for the next couple of years + succession planning. The latter relates to the hire stepping in to the CEO’s role when that seat becomes vacant (most likely in 3-5yrs). The immediate remit of the role will be to take weight off the CEO, especially with regards to wearing the Chief Risk Officer + Chief Compliance Officer hats. You will also act as a major interface at the back end of the asset raising process, facing off to potential investors, taking the lead on due diligence etc. As the hire grows in to the role, he/she will be trained to take on the full suite of CEO responsibilities, including a stronger involvement in the asset raising process (albeit without taking on specific marketing responsibilities). This is an incredible opportunity for a budding hedge fund CEO as you will learn from a highly respected individual that possesses many years of top level CEO experience.
My client is looking to go outside of the norm on this hire, to have a real new fresh focus/fresh pair of eyes in the firm, that can create change and bring in many new ideas. The preference is to hire a high performing management consultant from a MckInsey/Bain or similar. We will most likely aim for a candidate with 10-15yrs experience, however we would be very interested to look at a truly exceptional management consultant with circa 5yrs experience. Plan B would be to look at an individual that took an MBA at a top worldwide university and has since worked in a management role outside of an IB or hedge fund.
The role will pay up to a 150k base salary + 100% bonus potential (with upside as the individual grows within the firm/role). We can consider a guaranteed minimum bonus for Q1 2019 to secure the highest quality candidate available at this time.
