Summary of main tasks and responsibilities
Clients
· Work directly with clients on debt advisory situations
· Display judgment and initiative in execution including when to escalate and/or defer to other external advisors
· Able to present to clients on options for debt raising/structuring
· Builds good working relationships with corporate treasury teams and (where appropriate) CFOs
Marketing
· Assist in the delivery of marketing message to existing and new clients
· Good knowledge of market conditions across a variety of debt products
· Good contacts at lenders, debt investors, lawyers etc who are active in the UK market
· Commercial and ambitious
Transaction
· Focus on execution: ensuring clients have an excellent experience with any issues clearly identified and addressed up-front
· Good technical knowledge of debt structuring, documentation, general corporate finance theory and practice
· Strong financial modelling skills, particularly with respect to debt, cash flows and covenants
· Good working understanding of derivatives (preferred)
Internal
· Collegiate in approach and able to supervise more junior resource
· Able to act as internal resource to other deal teams on debt-related matters
· Excellent interpersonal skills with an ambition to be a key part of a growing team
