The role:

  • The Director will focus on new business origination and coordination of the deal origination/execution process of infrastructure transportation transactions across rail, roads and airports, utilities, electricity & gas distribution, telecommunications, etc in the UK & Europe.
  • They will be responsible for building and maintaining the bank's reputation and market profile as a leading provider of finance to the infrastructure sector
  • They will develop business opportunities in line with the strategic plans for the European business, growing revenues within agreed risk parameters. Particular focus will be on UK & European infrastructure opportunities but the Director will also be required to operate across the energy and utility segments from time to time.

Qualifications and Accreditation/Licensing

  • Bachelor's degree at a recognised university in economics, finance, actuarial studies, accounting, law or engineering and/or post graduate degrees in similar disciplines.
  • Expert sector knowledge and understanding of corporate finance, financial statement analysis and credit analysis is expected

Experience

  • The role requires an individual with experience originating, structuring and monitoring a broad range of complex finance transactions, including infrastructure finance, gained within a major international bank, along with demonstrable ability to monitor and understand risks.
  • A demonstrable record of transaction management and managing customer interactions
  • Previous people management experience would be advantageous with a proven capability to lead, motivate and develop junior team members
  • Sound understanding of financial markets generally and the energy & infrastructure finance market specifically, plus an ability to apply this knowledge to the structuring and negotiation of infrastructure and project finance transactions
