An exciting new opportunity has arisen to lead Silicon Valley Bank’s FinTech Team in the UK.

 

The UK FinTech team is responsible for developing long term relationships with high growth companies supporting their transition from early stage Series A funding status through to IPO.  In this fast moving sector, the team works closely with management teams to bring innovative financial solutions from across the full Silicon Valley Bank platform.  The team has enjoyed high growth levels in recent years and is now seeking an experienced FinTech market expert to drive the business forward to the next level.

 

This role will suit an individual who has experience of operating within the Fintech eco-system and a broad knowledge of the key subsectors to help drive high quality client acquisition. An added advantage would be direct experience of working for a Fintech with an affinity for the specific needs of these fast growing innovative businesses. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance framework within the UK and European markets.

 

Key aspects of the role are as follows:

  • Lead the new business origination, product delivery and portfolio management of the FinTech portfolio.

  • Oversee responsibility for managing credit risk within a growing portfolio.

  • Build out the brand of the SVB FinTech team in the external market.

  • Using market knowledge, build out and iterate the product portfolio to meet the changing needs of our FinTech client base.

  • Develop thought leadership and sector trend analysis on the FinTech sector.

  • Provide training to the wider team and produces sector insights.

  • Leadership experience with a strong track record of teamwork and team development.

  • Strong understanding of a wide range of FinTech business models and capital structures.

  • Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks impacting FinTech disruptors.

  • Demonstration of an established network within the FinTech community.

  • Able to assimilate large volumes of information and present in a concise manner to Executive management teams and VC investors

  • Able to execute effectively in an ambiguous and fast moving environment while motivating the team to continuously perform at a high level.

  • Experience in alternative lending / asset based warehousing is a plus.
