HSBC is currently looking for a Disclosure and Control Manager to join the Global Finance team. The manager is looking for a qualified accountant who has experience with external reporting and regulatory reporting.

Role Purpose:

  • The PRA & UK Reporting team is responsible for Capital Adequacy Reporting and other regulatory reporting to the PRA and other Regulators (for Group and the UK Bank) as well as the related external disclosures included with the interim and annual accounts and Pillar 3. The Disclosure & Controls team is responsible for the external disclosures and for managing the PRA & UK Regulatory Reporting Team's compliance with all internal controls/governance.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • To manage the external regulatory disclosure process for HSBC Group and HSBC Bank;
  • To manage the development & implementation of new external regulatory disclosures;
  • To ensure that external regulatory disclosures meet all relevant disclosure requirements, and are supported by effective controls and assurance in line with HSBC's Assurance Framework;
  • To develop and manage regular reporting and review of compliance with internal controls, RCAs and other internal governance, including monitoring clearance of Internal & External Audit issues;
  • To manage the development, implementation and review of assurance in accordance with the Group Assurance Framework.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To manage compliance with all UK and EBA regulatory disclosure requirements.
  • To manage the external regulatory disclosure process for HSBC Group and HSBC Bank, in particular their Pillar 3 reporting obligations.
  • To ensure accurate implementation of new disclosure requirements through liaison with Global Regulatory Policy and Regulatory Developments teams.
  • Manage assurance and controls framework for external disclosure reports;
  • Manage the development, implementation and review of assurance in accordance with the Group Assurance Framework
  • Manage all internal governance processes for the GRR PRA & UK Reporting team, including maintaining records of RCAs, outstanding Internal & External Audit issues, MSIIs etc and ensuring their resolution.
  • To manage compliance with all UK and EBA regulatory disclosure requirements.

Experience and qualifications needed:

  • Experienced financial services professional, with professional qualification e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA or other (e.g. CFA) or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrates extensive Finance and Regulatory practitioner experience
  • Track record of managing change in the context of complex regulatory reporting environment
  • Strong proven experience of successful regulatory reporting delivery and liaison with regulators, and exposure to multiple regulatory jurisdictions
  • Good problem solver with well-developed analytical skills
  • Experience of delivering to multiple internal and external stakeholders such as external auditors, regulators, audit committees, businesses, etc and ability to successfully navigate a matrix structure
  • Ability to manage multiple and, at times, conflicting objectives, prioritising effectively
  • Commercially minded and able to make decisions in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to influence across functions, geographies and businesses
  • Excellent all-round communication skills
