The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 2,500 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
Business Unit Controllers provide coverage and support to the Firm's Institutional Securities Group (ISG). Business Unit Controllers act as guardians by ensuring that books, records, and balances are materially correct in terms of classifications, value and booking of transactions. They monitor limits and maximize efficiency of financial and capital resources, provide management reporting and analytics to the business management teams via daily, weekly and monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, profitability/performance metrics and analysis.
We are looking for a candidate to partner with this business in the role of GCM product controller. This role will require a candidate with strong client skills to build key relationships with stakeholders in the GCM BU and across Global GCM Finance.
Key areas of responsibility include:
· Management of EMEA GCM product control team, including 3 direct reports
· Management reporting for GCM
· Enforcing firm JV Policy
· Lead and direct the responses to ad hoc reporting requests from BU clients and firm management
· Present weekly IBD MCR to Finance Senior Management and BU
· EMEA IBD Project Lead
· Review of the monthly expense and accrual analysis
· First point of contact for the GCM BU
· Global IBD risk lead*LH1-EC
Educated to degree level with preferably an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc)
