RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS YOUR IMPACT
We're looking for an experienced lawyer to join the derivatives and structured products legal team located in London. Focussing on a broad range of Structured Products and OTC derivatives you'll bring your skills to bear on high profile transactions and helping navigate regulatory change.

The derivatives and structured products legal team covers a broad range of structured finance transactions (including acquisition of residential mortgage and other ABS assets, and the related distribution structures such as securitisations, private placements and CLOs) as well as the full spectrum of derivatives. The team advises on the structuring and execution of transactions, helps the firm navigate legal and regulatory change and advises on all aspects of legal and reputational risk.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Advising on the structuring, documentation and execution of a wide range of structured finance and derivatives products
  • Advising on a variety of risk management and cross-border legal issues, in particular in relation to asset backed transactions across a range of asset classes
  • Advising on the practical impact of regulatory reform to the structuring and distribution of structured products
  • Assisting with the negotiation and drafting of transactional documents, including coordination with external counsel

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years legal experience in a leading law firm or financial institution
  • Strong structured finance experience with good knowledge of structuring and execution of asset backed transactions across a range of asset classes, together with the related regulatory background.
  • Some experience of working with sophisticated derivatives
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal,
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible way

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • In-house experience (permanent or through secondment)
  • Robust personality able to respond and be flexible to client demands whilst adhering to firm policies and group practices.
