The cornerstone of Morgan Stanley's risk management philosophy is the execution of risk-adjusted returns through prudent risk-taking that protects Morgan Stanley's capital base and franchise. Risk Management protects the Firm from exposure to losses resulting from market, credit and operational risk exposures.

Primary Responsibilities

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Risk Management professional for the EMEA Risk Governance team within the EMEA Risk Management Division. The EMEA Risk Governance was function created in light of the increased focus on demonstrating the effectiveness of control frameworks across risk management. The principal objective is to ensure EMEA risk governance and oversight is in line with local regulation and best practice (including policies and procedures), and help ensure a consistent approach in dealing with regulators.

The EMEA Risk Governance team works closely with Risk colleagues in London and globally.

This role is focused on governance and cross-risk aspects. Responsibilities include:
• Risk management policy frameworks – including maintaining, writing and reviewing policies, standards, procedures and guidelines
• Risk Committees – full administration of the EMEA Risk Committees including agreeing agendas, request materials, review submissions, compile meeting packs, attend and minute meetings, maintain Terms of Reference
• Policy co-ordination – including tracking policy reviews, managing policies and procedures, update requests from the stakeholders
• Drive cross-risk external reporting as it pertains to the risk management framework
• Advisory role across risk management focusing on regulatory standards - Identify and propose changes to enhance regulatory processes and controls, analysis of regulations and consultation papers


Qualifications:


Skills Required

• Bachelor degree or equivalent, ideally in Finance, Economics or similar
• Proven financial sector experience, preferably in risk management, internal audit or a Secretariat / regulatory co-ordination role,
• Understanding of PRA and European regulation, particularly in relation to CRD IV regulatory requirements relating to capital models and related permissions
• Experience with committees / regulatory submissions and an understanding of the importance of timely and accurate delivery
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to produce concise and effective presentations
• Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise; ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
• Ability to work in a small team environment, building and maintain a network of contacts and coordinating with a large number of stakeholders
