My client a tier-1 Investment bank with operations asll over the globe is currently recurring for an Equities Application Support consultant to join them on a permanent basis in there London office. You’ll be joining there Equities technology department which deals a number of activities, including production support 1st & 2nd line (Incident & Problem management & Root Cause Analysis), Environment/Configuration management, Change & Release management, Capacity Management, Risk & Control and minor projects / enhancements to production systems.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of supporting applications on Windows and Unix platforms, preferably with exposure to Scripting (eg python, perl, shell, bash)
  • Strong experience of client and exchange connectivity platforms with exposure to exchange APIs and market driven protocols
  • Strong knowledge of Equities market fundamentals and genuine interest in financial services / markets, particular changes in the regulatory environment and how they impact the way Investment Banks do business
  • Exposure to network connectivity investigation and diagnostics and low latency, High Frequency Trading platforms of benefit.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong technical leadership within the Electronic Trading team, covering Cash, QPS and Futures
  • Contribute significantly towards the build-out and the productionisation of the Electronic Trading Cash Architecture platform
  • Provide technical direction and leadership during incidents
  • Be accountable for the resiliency and capacity management of the production environment
  • Be accountable for certifying trading termination mechanisms (TTMs)
  • Contribute significantly towards the Change Delivery function for Electronic Trading EMEA; be the “Ops” contributor to DevOps
  • Coach and mentor more junior team members across geographies
