My client a leading investment bank with operations all over the globe is currently searching for an Application support consultant to join there expanding Equities technology business. Equities Technology covers three main business lines; Equity Derivatives, Cash Equities and Futures. Trading desks for these business areas are located globally in London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong. Your remit will be to provide strong technical application support within the Electronic Trading RTB team. Skills

  • Strong application support background
  • Experience working within Financial services
  • Scripting expertise (Bash, Perl etc)
  • Linux/Unix support exp (not technical SME)

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Equities Technology in London
  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, sharing that knowledge, as required
  • Liaise with internal traders, operations, and other stakeholders on potential process improvements.
  • Take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate.
  • Pro-actively improve the quality of systems and service, and increase business value.
  • Undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas: - capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting, documentation, audit and regulatory requests. 
  • Uphold and champion policies, procedures and standards.

Senior level responsibilities

  • Provide strong technical leadership within the Electronic Trading RTB team, covering Cash, QPS and Futures
  • Contribute significantly towards the build-out and the productionisation of the Electronic Trading Cash Architecture platform
  • Provide technical direction and leadership during incidents
  • Be accountable for the resiliency and capacity management of the production environment
  • Be accountable for certifying trading termination mechanisms (TTMs)
  • Embed RTB within the Agile SDLC – attend scrum meetings and provide non-functional requirements
  • Contribute significantly towards the Change Delivery function for Electronic Trading EMEA; be the “Ops” contributor to DevOps
  • Coach and mentor more junior team members across geographies
