A London-based hedge fund is looking for an Equity Trade Support & Operations Analyst to join its team.

This is a hands-on role supporting an equity long/short strategy, with responsibility across the full trade lifecycle. You will work closely with the investment team, brokers, prime brokers and counterparties to ensure accurate and efficient trade processing from execution through to settlement.

• Support the full equity trade lifecycle, from execution and trade capture through to settlement.
• Provide day-to-day support across equity long/short trading.
• Monitor trade bookings, confirmations, allocations and settlements.
• Investigate and resolve trade breaks, unmatched trades and settlement fails.
• Perform daily cash, trade and position reconciliations.
• Support processes relating to long and short positions, stock borrow and corporate actions.
• Liaise with portfolio managers, traders, prime brokers, executing brokers and custodians.
• Support financing, margin and collateral processes where required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Maintain strong operational controls across the trading lifecycle.

• Experience within Trade Support, Equity Operations, Middle Office or Investment Operations.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end equity trade lifecycle.
• Experience supporting cash equities, ideally within an equity long/short strategy.
• Knowledge of settlements, trade breaks, cash and position reconciliations.
• Exposure to prime brokerage, stock borrow/securities lending and corporate actions is advantageous.
• Exposure to equity swaps, CFDs, ETFs or listed derivatives would be beneficial.
• Strong Excel skills, with Python, SQL or VBA exposure advantageous.
• Comfortable working closely with front-office investment professionals.
• Hedge fund experience is preferred, although candidates from investment banks, prime brokers and asset managers will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of operational issues through to resolution.

This role would particularly suit someone looking to work in a lean hedge fund environment, with close exposure to the investment team and broad responsibility across equity trade support and operations.
