A prominent International bank based in London is currently seeking a FI Counterparty Risk Associate to join their Fixed Income Credit team. The role involves counterparty risk management on complex derivative trades within the emerging markets and fixed income space. This will have high exposure to the Front Office and offers an opportunity to make an impact on framework and the structure of transactions. Candidates must have excellent derivative knowledge and previous experience in counterparty risk quantification.

Key responsibilities for the FI Counterparty Risk Associate:

  • Managing counterparty risk exposure, focusing on transaction risk exposure to derivatives and trade approval
  • Reviewing a portfolio of EMEA FI trading counterparties and determining the credit rating for the counterparty
  • Presenting risk mitigating proposals to the Front Office department, specifically on how to make the transactions more structured and credit intensive

The FI Counterparty Risk Associate must have:

  • Working experience in counterparty analytics or risk analysis on capital markets across different asset classes
  • Strong derivative knowledge, including analysis of structured transactions for derivatives on the trade approval side
  • Experience in setting credit risk limits, understanding of credit transaction analysis, margin calls and exposure management
  • Experience in an equivalent role in an investment bank
  • Previous exposure to emerging markets is beneficial
  • Fluency in either French, German or Dutch would be an advantage
