We are looking for a Product Control Analyst to join our highly analytical team. We required you to have strong educational background in Economics (or equivalent), ability to learn quickly, motivated, some relevant experience in an Investment Banking Finance products related position (financial instrument knowledge in FICE or Commodities products). We will offer study support towards CIMA Finance qualification. The main categories of key functions within the PC line function are: • P&L Production; • Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation; • Independent Price Verification; • Fair Value Adjustments & Provisioning; • Management Information Reporting. • Backtesting sign off

The Product Control Analyst position will be part of the Finance team.

Product Control department within Finance is structured into two controlling teams aligned with the Front Offices business areas (FICE and Commodities), as well as two specific teams, one covering Daily MIS Reporting & Centralised Functions and one for Valuations.
The four controlling teams incorporate traditional Product control and Market Risk reporting responsibilities, which increases the individual’s exposure to investment banking.

Key Responsibilities:

Controlling role:
• Production of the Daily P&L, including analysis and explanation,
• Balance sheet validation ensuring completeness, accuracy & integrity of the ledger,
• Assisting in daily Risk reporting, through backtesting signoff
• Liaison with support functions and Front Office,
• Ad hoc projects

MI role:
• Responsible for daily and monthly MI and central controls, including the performance and distribution of a number of key reconciliations, being a central control hub for collation and distribution of data to Controllers and Managers,
• Liaison with support functions and Front Office,
• Aid to develop and maintain the Product Control KRI framework,
• Ad hoc projects.

Valuation role:
• Configuring the system for Independent Price Verification and Provisioning on a regular basis.
• Implementing business requirements from the Business and Product Control.
• Daily / monthly independent price and input parameter verification
• Liaison with Front Office and support functions
• Ad hoc projects.
