Background about role and team:
This role exists within the EMEA Finance team, specifically the Finance Risk & Control team, with responsibility for the design and maintenance of the finance team’s end-to-end governance and control frameworks. This includes oversight over the processes related to identifying, measuring, controlling, and monitoring the operational and financial risks for all finance areas, providing an early warning system of the team’s key risk indicators. This role is also responsible for prioritising and driving control remediations linked to our ‘Path to Green’ across finance forward with the objective to reduce risk, improve efficiency and increase transparency across processes, technology, data and controls.
Other responsibilities include relationship management both internally and externally with all relevant stakeholders including Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk departments, committees and regulators.
Job duties:
• Put in place the appropriate governance and control frameworks to ensure controls over internal and external reporting are delivered successfully in finance.
• Responsible for the delivery of the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework within the region.
• Ongoing monitoring of region’s risk profile against risk appetite through monitoring of performance against Risk Appetite Thresholds and related KRIs.
• Monitor and advise on the implantation of the Risk Management Standards within the region (controls framework, metric monitoring, escalation, reporting)
• Participate in the delivery of the regional risk assessment, identification and evaluation processes, including emerging risks.
• Support the execution of the regional Risk Assurance Plan (including control assurance, thematic and deep-dive reviews) .
• Support the preparation and execution of any regular risk reports to governing bodies or committees.
• Coordinate the risk response process within the region, including the review, approval and tracking of risk events, risk issues & actions and risk acceptances.
• Drive remediations across finance forward with the aim to automate processes, increase efficiency, reduce risks and to establish greater insight and control.
• Maintenance of the systems used to support the risk and control processes.
• Provide and communicate solution ideas and recommendations to stakeholders using appropriate models, documentation and business case development.
