Financial Controller – Norges Bank Real Estate Management

Norges Bank Real Estate Management is organised as a separate division within Norges Bank Investment Management and is managing the unlisted real estate portfolio of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG).

Norges Bank Real Estate Management is seeking a dedicated and results oriented professional for the position as Financial Controller in the Finance team. The Finance team is responsible for financial reporting and treasury management related to real estate investments.

Your role will be to contribute to financial reporting and accounting processes both on a statutory- and group level, including on-boarding of new investments and contributing in cross-department projects. You will be the main Finance resource covering our investments in Continental Europe.

The position is in London and report to Head of Finance based in Oslo. Travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial period closing and reporting process and contribute to the audit process for our Continental European entities
  • Contribute in budget processes and subsequent reporting at board meetings
  • Monitor and ensure quality control of third party reporting such as JV partners and Property Managers and co-ordinate with service providers
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools, methodology and workflows, and ensure compliance with statutory- and internal reporting requirements
  • On-board new real estate investments and be subject matter expert on existing Continental European investments
  • Manage cross-border intercompany loans and interest as well as intercompany charges
  • Extensive collaboration with the head office in Oslo and other departments is essential
  • Contribute to a hardworking, high-performing team with a focus on results

Main Qualifications:

  • University degree with strong academic records
  • Experience as auditor- or controller, preferably within real estate
  • Experience with IFRS and French/German GAAP is considered an advantage
  • Experience with cross-border ownership models
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager and a general interest in IT is considered an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills with a structured, accurate and proactive approach to problem solving
  • High level of integrity and a good team player
  • Skilled at developing collaborative working relationships
  • Ambition to excel
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with strong proficiency in written and spoken English and French
