Our client is a very well established and successful Private Equity business. A new role has been created in the Finance team to manage the audit cycle of all Funds. This will require someone to prepare multiple financial statements to very high standards. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience in an audit-related role with exposure to asset management or private equity.

Our client is a very well established and successful Private Equity business. A new role has been created in the Finance team to manage the audit cycle of all Funds. This will require someone to prepare multiple financial statements to very high standards. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience in an audit-related role with exposure to asset management or private equity.

The Role:

  • Preparation of Fund Financial Statements under FRS102, USGAAP, IFRS and LPAGAAP, to industry best practice, using the accounting information provided by the Funds finance team.
  • Preparation of Annual General Partner and Manager reports highlighting material investor information, key fund performance indicators and fulfilling regulatory requirements (e.g. AIFMD).
  • Ensuring Financial Statement information and internal reporting processes are effective.
  • Responding to auditor enquiries through; providing appropriate audit evidence; providing explanations on accounting treatment and calculations (e.g. performance fee models); or directing queries to other areas of the business whilst managing the communications.
  • Developing an audit plan that delivers on stakeholder priorities which will be agreed with management, the auditors and administrators.
  • Managing the delivery against the audit plan, communicating with third party stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and analysing audit documents for management including, engagement letters, representation letters, audit fee proposals, auditor planning and finalisation documents which include communications to those charged with governance.
  • Reporting to Exco and the Funds Audit Committee on audit progress and key matters for their consideration.
  • Management of outsourced Administrators for all audit related matters including timetabling of and progress against deliverables
  • Ensuring Financial Statements are sent out to investors and ensuring compliance with the relevant limited partnership agreement or side letters.
  • Ensuring there is appropriate coverage to support investment valuations i.e. valuations are at the reporting date and supported by quality information.

Requirements:

  • You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Relevant experience in an audit or audit-related role. You can come straight our of audit for this role
  • Exposure to asset management or private equity
  • Good technical accounting skills, including IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP
