Institutional Client Business EMEA – Global Consultant Relations
BlackRock’s institutional client business serves corporate and public-sector pension funds, charities and endowments, insurers and other financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds as well as governments and official institutions.
The Global Consultant Relations Team (“GCR”) is part of the Institutional Client Business.  GCR is responsible for: developing and maintaining relationships with global, regional and local consultants across all asset classes; overseeing institutional new business proposals; and data management with the goal of promoting BlackRock products through industry and consultant databases.  In addition, GCR’s Business Management function supports and enables GCR’s senior leaders and RMs to execute on team objectives.  Primarily based in the US and UK, the group is also represented in Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.
 
Job Purpose/Background:
 
GCR’s Business Management function is seeking an Analyst / Associate to join the team in a position based in London.  The candidate’s primary responsibility would be to drive business reporting, data analysis and projects related to consultant-intermediated business, and support on strategic reporting and presentations.  Responsibilities will cover both a global and regional (EMEA) perspective. The position will report to GCR EMEA’s Business Manager in London, and will also work directly with the global lead for GCR Business Strategy based in New York. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and analyze data to identify trends and key drivers in consultant-intermediated business each month (AUM, flows, revenues, meeting activity, client wins / losses, market intel); produce detailed reports for senior management highlighting key changes, takeaways, and insights

  • Produce detailed management information to enable GCR’s global, EMEA, US & Canada and APAC senior leaders to execute on, and track progress against, the team’s objectives

  • Support senior leaders in drafting reporting and presentations, as well as projects, both tactical and strategic

  • Present and communicate data in a clear and concise manner; not only to senior leaders, but to the broader GCR team and partner teams as needed

  • Work with broader GCR, ICB COO, Financial Planning & Analysis and partner teams in Tech & Ops to identify efficiencies, streamline production and accuracy of financial data

  • Enhance existing reporting processes with a focus on simplification, automation, visualization and improved communication

  • Develop a deep knowledge of a CRM (Client Sales system) to provide support to consultant coverage teams
 
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preference for numerical discipline

  • Relevant experience in the financial services sector; working knowledge of the asset management and/or financial services industry, preferred but not essential

  • Experience of data management processes

  • Able to analyse and extract valuable insights for management and deliver impactful dashboards

  • Cross-functional experience in finance, accounting, and technology a plus but not essential

  • Demonstrable problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking

  • History of effective multi-tasking, priority and expectation setting and issue management

  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and coordination skills

  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; preference for advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, SUMIFs);

  • Clearly articulate and present ideas both in written presentations and verbally

  • Deliver in fast paced environment with tight deadlines, multiple demands and prioritise effectively

  • Work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives in multiple locations
