A leading private investment management firm based in Mayfair is seeking to recruit a Global Macro Strategy, Associate. The Associate will be responsible for macroeconomic research and analysis, playing a key role in the work of the Asset Allocation team.

Macroeconomic research

  • Gathering, analysing and synthesising economic and financial data and research on global markets and industry sectors and understanding how it fits within the investment framework of the firm

Central recipient and analyst of all macro and economic news from external data sources and external research

Managing the relationship with external research providers

  • Researching macroeconomic issues, staying abreast of current developments and sharing this information with the firm
  • Producing the internal economic modelling and forecasts, using and building on the infrastructure of the firm
  • Maintaining, updating and monitoring the internal database of key variables and indicators
  • Adding research input for the due diligence of new investment opportunities from the Origination team


  • Presenting global macroeconomic developments on a weekly basis to the investment team, and how it fits within the cyclical and secular views and themes of the firm
  • Contributing to bespoke presentations and reports for clients and prospective clients,
  • Leading and participating in ad-hoc research projects and presentations
  • Helping to organize and participate in regular Macro events for clients and external counterparties and the internal Secular and Year Ahead Investment Forum

Asset allocation team

  • Producing key work for the monthly Asset Allocation Committee meetings, focussing on the macroeconomic environment, and presenting findings at the meeting
  • Participate fully in monthly Asset Allocation team meetings

Key attributes:
• Economics degree from top tier University (Min 2:1), Post graduate degree a benefit
• Preference for 2/3+ years’ experience in a role requiring macroeconomic analysis
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills
• Ability to work well in a team, and understand the investment process of the firm and clearly articulate consistent views
