The Syndicate team operates in a global environment (110 people based principally in London, Paris and NY). Syndicate is one of the team of the Global Finance Division within the Global Banking and Investment Services.

Description of the Business Line or Department

The Syndicate team operates in a global environment (110 people based principally in London, Paris and NY). Syndicate is one of the team of the Global Finance Division within the Global Banking and Investment Services.

Summary of the Key Purposes of the Role

The intern will join the Global Syndicate COO team and work closely with the management, syndicators and sales.

• Communication and marketing

The intern will also work with members of Loan Sales, Loan Syndicate and where necessary Trading teams to provide support across all parts of the Loan Sales team.

Summary of Responsibilities

Activity key indicators

• Updating key risk management documents such as The Global Underwriting report / The CORISQ limits report / The Final Final Take document
• Follow-up and analysis of the syndicate activity (Performance indicators, monthly dashboard…)
• Follow-up the fees generated by the Loan EMEA team
• Assist in producing accurate budget forecast for the Management

Daily Support

• Answer all requests coming from the SG community or externally towards SYN
• Provide meaningful and accurate market information to the Management on a daily basis using financial databases
• Provide support to the Loan Sales team, in particular initiating the KYC requests on behalf of the Sales persons
• Supporting Loan Sales and other colleagues in setting up Debt Domain sites and ensuring that counterparties have KYC approvals.
• Maintenance of various internal reporting requirements including weekly risk position updates, quarterly market updates and P&L report updates.

• Carrying out monthly process audits on primary and secondary transactions.

• Using financial databases (e.g. Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters Eikon and Dealogic) for client analysis.

Communication and Marketing

• Build and maintain internal relationship between the overall syndicate team
• Preparation and consistency checking of the league tables declarations with the financial press (Bloomberg, Reuters and Dealogic)
• Preparation and documentation of internal or external presentations (IFR pitch, Euromoney pitch, The Banker, DCM Outlook annual presentation, Regulators requests, market activities)
• Preparation of other support activities for the Management

Level of Autonomy and Authority

The job holder will always work under the close supervisor of the COO team and the Loan Sales team.

The position requires the holder to display a certain degree of autonomy and with the requirement for quick and effective decision making.

As the Loan Sales team works on the private side the job holder has to be aware of confidentiality requirements at all times.


Profile:

Work Experience

• Experience not a prerequisite but any previous banking/financial institution experience could be useful

Education

• Undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum 2:1

Languages

• Proficient in French and English is a must
