A best in class and rapidly growing life insurer based in London are seeking to hire a Director level Head of Automation and Insights, for a newly created position (and team). In this newly created role, you will lead and revolutionise the current finance function's understanding of business performance. Working closely with, and supporting the actuarial and accounting teams under the Financial Director and Chief Actuary, you will grow a team which will have a mission to enhance insights on business performance. Your aim will be to ensure that the business moves away from reliance on manual and inefficient processes to utilise best in class technology solutions.
You do not need to necessarily be either an Actuary or an Accountant, although if you are not, you would need to understand how a finance function operates at an insurance company.
You will be tasked with growing a team to identify and develop solutions. You will oversee the future transition of new developments into BAU processes through working closely with these teams.
Experience in systems such as Matlab, Python, R, PowerBI, Excel, Alteryx, Oracle solutions etc.
You will have had experience leading on an automation project with an insurer previously and will have a firm grasp of the work that actuaries and accountants do if you are not from that background initially (and have more of an IT programme delivery focused background).
