Head of a Business Development for a new independent investment management firm

Who we are:


The firm will operate a fundamentally-oriented European equity long-short strategy and the fund manager has a strong record of material outperformance.

 

Our aspiration is to build one of the leading investment management firms in Europe over time, as measured by the quality of returns generated, and the quality of service provided to investors.

 

The fund has received four years plus investment commitments from highly respected, institutional cornerstone investors. The firm’s operating costs, including salaries, are guaranteed to 2023.

 

The team has experience of launching, managing and leading independent investment management firms. 

 

We believe strongly in the power of values, principles and culture at the firm level and work with a broad team of advisors, including a high-performance expert, to maximise the firm’s potential.

You're obsessed with continual improvement / aggregation of marginal gains / kaizen 


You have huge passion for customer service and adding value to our investors

 

You demonstrate a deeply structured, diligent and rigorous approach to the sales and marketing process


You're a workhorse. No one will out-prepare, out-work or out-sell you

 

You're tenacious and determined. You're comfortable dealing with the initial fund-raising uncertainty that comes from promoting a new launch, and are able to rapidly build a wide and deep network of leads for the firm with leading globally institutional investors


You're creative, adaptable and proactive. You can think deeply from first principles about the sales and marketing process, and have innovative ways for us to interact with institutional investors at every stage of the sales cycle 


You objectively believe you're currently in the top 10% to 20% of business development executives for your level of experience / age, and want to work to become the top 5% over the next five years

 

You have a passion to "do", not "have". You want to help build a truly great investment management firm, rather than just earning a great income

 

You want to work with best-in-class colleagues who will constructively challenge you every day to grow, excel and maximise your potential as a fund-raiser, leader and peer

Minimum requirements:


Demonstrable experience of successfully sales, marketing and/or IR to U.S. and non-UCITS European / UK institutional investors 
 

Experience of selling fundamentally oriented equity strategies, including the ability to discuss investment strategy, process and individual positions
