As a leading global asset manager, creating long-term value for clients is looking for a Head of Private Equity Product Strategy / Product Specialist. The firm offers a comprehensive range of investment solutions, as well as the very highest level of service and support.

The Role

The product strategy team sits within our Product & Client Solutions group and is responsible for harnessing our global skills, knowledge and experience across the firm to drive product strategy and solutions across Private Markets, Traditional Asset Classes and Multi Asset. This incorporates driving product innovation and strategy through three key stages: i) Asset class strategy & research, ii) Design & test and iii) Embed & inform, all whilst in partnership with the relevant investment teams and our distribution function.

Key Aspects of the Role

  • The Private Equity & Infrastructure Product Strategy Team’s role is to ensure the “right” investment strategies are brought to market with a high probability of commercial success. This involves working in partnership across Product & Client Solutions, investment teams, distribution and with key external market participants and contacts.
  • In charge of product strategy, innovation and solutions reflecting the unique challenges and characteristics of the private illiquid asset classes inclusing closed ended and limitied liquidity structures.
  • Work in partnership with Product Development to ensure best in class execution of new product development from concept through to successfully securing cornerstone capital or commitments from strategic investors
  • Capture and share regional knowledge through a program of strategic engagements with key external ‘hubs’ including strategic partners, strategic clients, key consultants, global financial institutions
  • Provide feedback loop for distribution on client and consultant needs/issues
  • Work proactively with the sales and client teams to educate/inform/update on the firms broader private market capabilities
  • Represent new products as a PM proxy to support distribution
  • Source asset specific co-investment capital from strategic investors
  • Drive innovation through leveraging internal and external engagement to provide insight to feed new product development discussions
  • Oversee market/industry/client in-depth trend analysis and interpretation

Key Requirements

  • Oversee market/industry/client in-depth trend analysis and interpretation
  • In depth knowledge and extensive experience of private market asset classes and products thus enabling high level detailed discussions with key strategic investors and stakeholders
  • A thorough knowledge of key competitors and the competitive environment
  • A good working knowledge of the legal and regulatory provisions associated with the role
  • Ability to build and nurture strong relationships across the industry at a senior level
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Educated to degree level, IMC qualification or CFA preffered
