On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a IT Business Analyst (Commodities Trading) for a 6 Month contract based in London/Remote.

Purpose of the Role:

  • To support the team dedicated to the IT Commodities Trading business and support on a number Electronic Trading transformation projects

As a IT Business Analyst (Commodities Trading) you will be responsible for:

  • Work closely with sponsors and users to inventory, clarify and consolidate requirements
  • Work effectively with representatives of a diverse range of departments located in various locations
  • Collect and document business requirements and write functional specifications
  • Use the most appropriate means to clarify requirements and specifications, such as interviews, use cases, workshops, flow charts & diagrams
  • Manage scope creep to prevent specification being expanded beyond project goals
  • Ensure dependencies are clearly identified
  • Acquire and maintain a good/detailed understanding of the Commodities platform
  • Work closely with IT developers:
    • to assess feasibility
    • to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications are understood
    • to ensure that the development work planning is in line with the project plan
    • to report any major risk or business decision to the project manager
    • to define the testing plan
    • Plan and execute UATs
    • Perform user training and support for a limited post-go live period.
    • Actively contribute to the development and improvement of the business analyst methodology by sharing knowledge and experience with other team members.

What we require from the candidate:

  • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong experience in capturing IT requirements
  • Trading knowledge - Front to back-office business processes knowledge, with an emphasis on trade capture, pre-trade workflow and post trade cycle

Desirable but not essential:

  • Some knowledge of SQL
