Here in Group Internal Audit, we are the third line of defence and take a leading role in rebuilding trust for our customers, the Group and the industry. Our vision is to become our best, by helping connect the dots across the organisation. We have a critical role to play in our business. We provide expert assurance on the control framework of Lloyds Banking Group, supporting the Group as we become the best bank for customers.

We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve our organisation's operations. We work alongside the first and second line of defence which are the business and risk functions respectively. As the third line we report to the Board over the effectiveness of the Group's risk management, control and governance processes.

As an Auditor within the Data Analytics Team, you will work alongside the Audit Managers and Senior Audit Managers in supporting the delivery of a portfolio of data analytics assignments in support of the annual audit plan. As part of Group Audit's strategy to grow and enhance our use of data, you will also work with Analytics Champions across Group Audit to encourage and support the use of analytics.

In this key role, you'll work with other data analytics specialists and other audit team members to identify opportunities for data analytics, and then support the development and delivery of those analytics. You'll support Group Audit colleagues and business management in understanding your findings, and agreeing where action needs to be taken in order to protect the Group.

Naturally, you will apply and champion the Group Audit methodology and standards and keep abreast of audit best practice and the changing regulatory environment. Awareness of the latest trends in data analytics and computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs) is essential, as well as an awareness of emerging risks within Financial Services and in internal audit in general. It is desirable but not essential to have a relevant audit qualification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or qualified / part qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA), or comparable audit skills acquired through relevant training and work experience.

You'll understand how data analytics can be used to provide business insights, evidence of potential risks and possible control failures. In addition, you'll provide reasonable assurance over control design and operation, and have a desire to generate ideas for the use of data analytics and encourage others to use analytics to achieve their audit objectives.

Your role will involve sourcing, cleansing and importing data so that you can design, develop and deliver computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATs) and data analytics in an internal audit context. You must therefore be proficient in developing and running SQL scripts and using Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of other tools such as CaseWare IDEA, Tableau, Microsoft Access and R is desirable but not required.

Stakeholder management is key as you will need to engage and build relationships and successfully influence a wide variety of stakeholders across Group Audit and the wider business.
