Investment Associate, Financial Services PE Investor, London

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading mid-market private equity fund focussing on the financial services sector. It is looking to hire several Associates to its team in London

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and lead execution of transactions to ensure potential investment opportunities are diligenced and transacted to the required standards
  • Participate in strategic assessment of, and utilise skills and expertise and networks, to build value in existing portfolio companies
  • Build and utilise networks to drive new business and talent pools to identify new transactions and to build value in existing portfolio businesses
  • Supervise and support other members of the team, providing training, motivation and constructive feedback
  • Be aware of Risk Management Framework and seek to operate to the highest standards and support a strongly risk aware culture at every level of the business
  • Act in accordance with the Governance structure as appropriate for a FCA regulated business
  • The jobholder maintains his/her competence in accordance with the Firm’s Training and Competency policy
  • Ensure the business area conducts its activity in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Report any breaches of regulations to Operations or Risk
  • Ensure the business unit operates in accordance with stipulated risk management policies and procedures
  • Ensure failures and shortcomings in policies and procedures are reported to line manager


YOUR PROFILE:

  • Relevant work experience from top-tier investment banks, leading strategy-consulting firms, ‘Big 4’ transaction services teams, corporate finance houses, or private equity funds
  • Ability to work independently and productively, and thrive in a loosely-structured entrepreneurial environment
  • First rate degree from a leading University
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills are essential, and must be demonstrable
  • ACA and MBA qualifications are beneficial but not prerequisites
  • Excellent written and communicated English, allowing you the ability to write, present, and articulate flawlessly


COMPENSATION:

  • Target Base Salary: Competitive
  • Bonus: competitive to market, dependent on individual performance
