The Commodities eCommerce Technology team is hiring in London. We are part of the JP Morgan Global Commodities business, which serves a variety of clients in the industrial and financial services sectors. Our products are traded via a web portal; we also serve a small number of clients via a FIX API. The products are principally traded OTC products in a variety of underlying commodities across Precious Metals, Base Metals, Energy, Agriculturals and Indices.
The existing technology stack is built on the proprietary “Athena” platform, which is written in python; this stack covers pricing, order management and booking functions and interfaces with various other components managed by other teams such as the web portal, the exchange gateways and market data feed handlers. A major project that will be continuing next year, will be the migration of client flows off the current stack and onto an alternative java-based order management stack in line with our broader eCommerce strategic architecture.
We are looking for an enthusiastic VP level hire to lead a team of four in London, reporting to the global head of Commodities eCommerce Technology, also in London. Day to day responsibilities will be hands-on development, team management, mentoring and leading the other members of the team, managing third-line support rotas, holiday calendars etc. Although we’re looking for someone primarily with Java and electronic trading experience, the successful candidate will need to be happy picking up other technologies and design patterns, e.g. python and graph-based programming.
