We want an expert Data Scientist with a background in Machine Learning to join our Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service (IRIS) team.
IRIS is central to DWP's fraud and error strategy. You'll be radically transforming how the welfare system and those that use it are protected.
We make £195bn a year, to over 20 million people, and look after pension assets worth over £1.7tn. It's huge and every penny is important to our users.
You'll be our effective Head of Machine Learning with all the opportunity and influence that brings. You're our go-to expert for machine learning and you'll help define what ML means in government.
What skills and experience do you need?
- You provide direction and lead on change related to development, deployment and monitoring of machine learning models.
- You understand a wide range of datasci and ML techniques and methods and when they are appropriate to use. You can apply emerging theory to practical situations.
- You lead and set high standards and best practices for teams. You ensure accuracy, fairness, protection of data and delivery pace.
- You can communicate relevant, compelling stories with senior stakeholders and make recommendations that people can understand and act on.
- You can see where capability improvements are needed to meet goals and objectives.
- You encourage, recognise and share innovative ideas
- You create a diverse and inclusive environment where people feel safe to challenge, innovate and speak up.
