We have an excellent opportunity within the Consumer Onboarding Value Stream to join us as a Lead Front End Engineer.

We have an excellent opportunity within the Consumer Onboarding Value Stream to join us as a Lead Front End Engineer.

As a core contributor you'll...

  • Ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.
  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion
  • Drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our frontend client software
  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of Engineers

Key Capabilities

As a Lead Engineer for Consumer Onboarding you'll be capable of bootstrapping projects, be able to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle and have a wealth of experience managing, coaching and helping engineers grow their potential.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Commanding grasp of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies experience
  • Experience on Front-End test automation, GIT and CI
  • Strong Knowledge of JavaScript
  • Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling, such as Reactjs, Redux, Webpack
  • Cross Browser
  • Design & UX
  • Containers
  • Familiarity with server-side REST APIs
  • Mobile apps - preferred experience

Key Accountabilities

With line manager responsibilities you'll be focused on coaching and helping the people of the chapter grow in their function. You'll build efficient and reusable front-end systems and abstractions, find and address quality and performance issues and participate in design and code reviews. Identify general improvements and implement engineering best practices, while collaborating with the product/design team to iterate the design function and implement the products. You'll also collaborate with Backend and DevOps Engineers to build features and experiments.

Someone who can build relationships and work productively with others across a variety of domains, disciplines and locations. We'll need you to be passionate about technology and its application to real-world problems and have excellent computer Science fundamentals. From a technical perspective you'll have an awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations and demonstrated design and UX sensibilities.
