Leading Mayfair-based hedge fund seeks temporary Operations Analyst to join the Global Operations Group covering a maternity leave. Assisting with day-to-day responsibilities and activities by maintaining accurate records of Group trades and the associated processes.

MAIN POSITION FUNCTIONS:
• Support the Operations Group in their day-to-day activities, ensuring efficiency and accuracy of all trades and the associated processes
• Provide operational support to execution and portfolio managers
• Book trades, across all macro asset classes and their associated financing into the relevant systems; and ensure bookings are accurately completed in a timely manner. Rates and futures focus
• Act as a liaison between prime brokers and internal firm groups to ensure that all trade discrepancies are kept to a minimum and any breaks are resolved in a timely manner
• Ensure the flow of information is accurately and efficiently communicated within the Operations Group, and to other relevant groups and external companies
• Evaluate data and provide ideas to the Operations Group in order to work toward improving and enhancing productivity and development
• Expand upon knowledge of products and technology for personal development and growth within the Operations Group
• Cross train on repo trading desk in order to fund and cover bond positions in Sovereign and corporate debt


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• A basic understanding of Hedge Fund operational activities advantageous, with the ability to self-develop and remain aware of happenings within the industry
• Basic knowledge of firm products and trade processes, specifically those relating to interest rates, credit swaps, structured products, futures, options, bonds, FX and repos
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships within the department and across the firm
• Strong work ethic
• Detailed oriented
• Can produce a high quality product with attention to detail and self-review
• Proactive in nature, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently
• Must be flexible in order to adapt to an often stressful and changing work environment
• Proficient in Windows XP, Microsoft office programs, as well as a basic understanding of other relevant programs and software
