One of the largest insures globally, they are looking for a London Market Accountant to join their Finance Operations team. This person will be responsible for investment accounting information and issues for the UK and the overseas group of companies my client holds. In addition, this person will be ensuring the integrity of the underlying financial accounting data for the syndicate and for preparing information as required for various parties, including Lloyd's financial reporting.

London Market Syndicate Accountant - £65,000 - £70,000 + Package

My client is one of largest insures globally, they are looking for a London Market Accountant to join their Group Finance Operations team. This person will be responsible for investment accounting information and issues for the UK and the overseas group of companies my client holds.

In addition, this person will be ensuring the integrity of the underlying financial accounting data for the syndicate and for preparing information as required for various parties, including Lloyd's financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing key quarterly syndicate returns (QMA, QMB, GQD, QSR, QAD, Trust Funds)
  • IFRS / UK GAAP Reporting
  • Lloyd's QMA investment related templates, quarterly reconciliation of investment submission to Lloyd's, Lloyd's SII derivative gains and losses and deal with Lloyd's queries, on behalf of UK Syndicate 2001
  • Ensuring all ICF and J-SOX controls are adhered to
  • Preparing annual SIS and tax returns to Lloyd's
  • Preparing LCA reconciliations
  • Preparing syndicate prepayments and accruals each month
  • Monthly detailed expense analysis for the syndicate
  • Assisting with external reporting to third parties (e.g. capital providers)
  • Any ad-hoc projects as they arise

The successful candidate will need the following skills and experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant i.e. ACCA, CIMA and recent IFRS / UK GAAP experience
  • Experience in the insurance industry
  • Lloyds of London, syndicate experience
  • 5+ years' experience
