Asset Management Middle Office

About the role & team

The Asset Management Middle Office provides high quality support to all Front Office trading desks and supporting Asset Management and Group related functions.

 

The analyst will provide critical support to the Finance Teams in respect of IFRS related processes for all trading desks whilst providing one single point of contact to ensure dedicated support. The candidate is encouraged to facilitate the execution of various IFRS processes including supporting the SPPI process, acquiring documentation for securities/loans and ensuring accurate asset classification. 

A key facet of this role is to support any ECL related workstreams as well as credit ratings, NAV or new IFRS related topics that require Middle Office support. 

The position holder would serve as the main conduit between the various Finance, Data Integrity and other teams linked to IFRS processes and the various internal and external asset managers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Working directly with Finance to ensure that all required documentation for bonds and loans is acquired in a timely, accurate and efficient manner to meet short applicable timeframes.

Facilitating the impairment process in relation to defaults and reduction in values of an asset where the Trading Desk/external manager may be required to report and/or provide quantitative/qualitative information.

Responsible for working with Finance Teams on any new or modified processes that may come into scope.

On an exception basis support Data Management and various other functions ensuring we have accurate and current credit ratings.

Collaboration with AM Finance and Data Integrity Teams to further develop and improve our understanding of the asset classes in scope and where automation, STP can be achieved.

Ensure constant communication with the Front Office and support feedback loops to Finance and other partners ensuring changes in risk profiles such as new mandates are reviewed and analysed for IFRS requirements.

Work with the assurance functions to ensure we meet the standards on recording and documenting AM processes and controls.

 

Projects/Initiatives

 

Support AM-wide projects and initiatives, working closely with partners, assessing/critiquing the overall processes and systems architecture and delivering results.

Inspire changes to the existing target operating model, system, or processes to meet any changes in internal or external reporting requirements.

Represent the various desks in discussions with key partners e.g., AM Finance, Group Investment Reporting or Data Integrity etc.

Collaborate with team members to review assignments, projects and resolve or advance issues.

 

About you

 

Minimum of 3 years' experience in the area of Asset Management 

Undergraduate degree or higher education preferably in Finance or Business Management

Solid understanding of different financial products

Experienced in the asset classification methodologies and processes.

Full understanding of a trade life cycle

Ability to translate business initiatives into clear, consistent, systematic processes, systems and controls
