The Group Finance Team ensure successful running of all aspects of financial management of the Coller Capital Group. This includes statutory financial reporting, management information, Corporation tax and VAT, accounts payable and ad-hoc projects to assist the Coller Capital Executive with strategic decision making. As part of a small team the candidate will gain broad experience of all aspects of finance, and will build a core skill set which will form the foundation of any finance career.

Regular Responsibilities

  • Month End management accounting for Coller Group companies, to include assisting on the preparation of a monthly Operating Committee report and Board reports for the CICAP Board
  • Assisting with cashflow management including bank reconciliations, recommendations on treasury deposits and monthly cashflow forecasting
  • Meeting with internal Department Heads to review their monthly departmental spend vs budget, and understand trends, variances and future forecasting requirements. Also working on 3 year budgets for the department and transforming into analysis report for COO
  • Producing Fundraising expense reporting when the Coller Group is raising a fund
  • Assisting with VAT and Corporation tax returns
  • Liaising with auditors during the financial audit and providing explanations for expenditure items in the profit and loss
  • Monthly journals for accruals, depreciation, prepayments, staff expenses, operating expenses and credit cards etc
  • Overseeing payment runs / invoice processing, which includes managing the Accounts Payable team (3 people) ensuring that deadlines are met


Project work

  • Contributing to the efficient running of the team by continuously looking to strengthen controls, introduce system efficiencies in areas such as management accounts, Board packs and financial statements.
  • Potential to be involved in managing the foreign exchange risks of the Coller Group
  • Hedge accounting
  • Contributing to the design of our reporting and ensuring it remains relevant to internal Stakeholders

Recent project work in the team included: analysis of the new FRS 102 accounting standard and the impact for the Coller Group, review of travel across the Group and consideration of cost saving measures and meeting with Fund Management to try to achieve a better return on our cash balances.


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs)
  • Strong IT systems skills
  • Experience with invoice management system ideally kontrolla or similar
  • Experience of monthly management accounting including preparation of board documents


  • Experience of SUN accounting
  • Knowledge of UK corporation tax
