Our client is a reputable investment management firm with a strong performance track record. They are seeking an experienced Management Accountant for 14 months for a maternity cover contract role. You’d be joining a motivated and hardworking team with a very supportive and social culture.

The role will report to the Head of Finance, and will be responsible for the month end accounting processes and P&L production. The role manages two assistants, whose roles are primarily expense and purchase ledger processing and income postings. Role responsibilities will involve:

  • Responsible for delivering month end close process, and ensuring process is accurate and efficient
  • Monthly P&L production for core business entities, including commentary on variances
  • Business channel P&L reports
  • Approval of all expenses, purchase ledger and payroll payments
  • Responsible for Purchase Order process including review and approval of purchase orders
  • General ledger postings and reconciliations
  • Run cost allocations process
  • Management of two assistants responsible for accounts payable and expenses, payroll, revenue postings, fixed assets, prepayments, petty cash, credit cards, some balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provision of information to Management Information team
  • Responsible for preparation of cost centre reports for IT/HR/Marketing
  • Responsible for dept cost reports for all other departments
  • Maintain procedures for all tasks and ensure adequate cover for team roles
  • Other, as reasonably required by line manager and business

  • Flexibility to perform different and varied tasks
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work on own initiative

Key candidate requirements include:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) or Qualified by Experience
  • Systems literate (particularly Excel, including V-Lookups, pivot tables, SUMIFS)
  • Experience of using Sun Systems and Q&A advantageous
  • Significant experience within Investment Management is preferred
