Broad role encapsulating a very wide range of responsibilities. You will be a problem solver at heart with a wealth of knowledge across a broad range of functions, and, a strength within alternative investments. You will be a qualified accountant that has a wealth of experience within alternative asset fund accounting, as well as a broader understanding of the operational complexities around fund launches, operational tax requirements.

The Opportunity:

  • This is a newly created role within an entrepreneurial, growing, cutting edge alternative investment manager with a Global footprint
  • It is hard to put into the words a definitive list of duties and responsibilities due to the breadth of the role and the culture of the firm
  • This role has been created to add knowledge and experience in complex fund accounting which has come to light through the design and launch of ever more complex alternative funds, domiciled in a wider range of jurisdictions etc.
  • In short, you will be required to ultimately act as a subject matter expert (SME) around fund accounting, as well as add further value from a fund accounting perspective around fund launches, and, be able to advise the business re potential issues and provide solutions to them
  • So, in summary this position will add value from for the point of initial launch,  and then day-to-day fund accounting oversight of a growing range of alternative funds including 
  • Develop and implement the fund accounting and wider operational solution to alternative products (Globally), including ensuring all policies and procedures are identified and documented. Anticipate and provide solutions to the most complex fund operational & accounting problem
  • TAX – you will be involved with supporting fund operational tax when new product types are launched, therefore , you will need to be comfortable with operational tax requirements

Your Experience:

  • First and foremost you will be excited about working within a broad role that is very visible within the broader business and will interact with senior C Suite executives including the COO and CEO
  • You will have a strong record of academic achievement and will be a qualified accountant
  • You will be a highly experienced fund accountant from within a buy-side organisation
  • In terms of fund / asset class exposure, you will have worked within a firm that is concerned with the management of alternative fund structures and familiarity with all (or some) of the following - QIAIFs, investment trusts, Cayman master – feeder, Lux securitisation vehicles, Irish section 110 (both fund accounting and tax)
  • Some broader exposure to fund oversight, vendor management and / or fund launch experience would be helpful
  • Exposure to loans would be desirable, and, non UCITS fund structures essential 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders (including C suite) and the ability to say “no” to distribution!
  • Able to make decisions and find solutions to new complex product ranges
  • Working with outsource providers
