Position Overview

Our opening for a Professional Development and Organizational Effectiveness (PDOE) Manager is a great opportunity to bring your diverse talent management experience to the table and make a meaningful impact in the careers and employee experience of our highly-driven employees. The mission of the Professional Development & Organizational Effectiveness team within the HR Division is to build CME Group's people and organizational capabilities to successfully achieve key business objectives.  The PDOE Manager, will collaborate regularly with the Chicago based PDOE team and HR Business Partners to execute talent strategies and priorities by helping to design and implement widely applicable and scalable best in class talent and development programmes/processes. These include: performance management, talent planning and succession management, employee engagement surveys, talent assessments, career development, and employee on-boarding .

Principal Accountabilities

  • Partner and collaborate with PDOE team members and HR Business Partners to implement strategies and processes which support employee engagement, learning initiatives and talent management
  • Facilitate communication and execution activities with key stakeholders through all phases of talent management programmes
  • Consult with stakeholders to uncover opportunities, gain alignment and buy-in to increase business performance via talent programmes and initiatives
  • Conduct research and analysis informed by stakeholder input to identify gaps and potential solutions across all facets of talent management, engagement and development offerings
  • Manage talent and learning vendor relationships and oversee vendor performance, conduct vendor screening and assist with selection
  • Help to ensure Learning Management System administration for internationally based programmes and events run smoothly
  • Promote and coordinate CME Group's experienced-based Talent Exchange programme
  • Provide specialist guidance to HR Business Partners about Talent Management programmes such as performance management and promotion
  • Facilitate staple CME Group courses and regional events
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of external market best practices

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Learning & Development, Human Resource Management
  • CIPD accreditation preferred but not essential  
  • Demonstrable experience within Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Learning and Development
  • Demonstrated programme management of talent management initiatives
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent client relationship management and consulting skills
  • Ability to anticipate situations, stay ahead of trends and develop original and impactful talent solutions
  • Success in developing and deploying talent initiatives that align to the business strategy
  • Ability to understand business environment (financial and other)
  • Strong communication, consulting, and facilitation skills within all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in building effective and collaborative relationships and team building
  • Ability to work in a highly matrix environment and influence stakeholders
  • Experience coaching and influencing employees, peers, and leader
  • HR Systems experience (Learning Management Systems, ERP Systems, Performance Management Systems)
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles
