Media Relations Manager role in a successful global asset manager

Our client is a very successful global asset manager. They are hiring a Media Relations Manager to join their London based corporate communications team. The successful candidate will focus on our client's wholesale and personal investing businesses.

Key responsibilities:

  • Helping to develop story ideas, campaigns and provide PR support
  • Researching and developing creative and interesting material suited to a direct to consumer and IFA audience.
  • Able to draft timely and reactive commentary
  • Developing strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and the national, consumer, online and trade press
  • Responding to day to day queries from the media in a timely manner
  • Hosting spokesperson press meetings and interviews (digitally at present) and preparing briefing notes
  • Keeping abreast of the issues likely to impact retail investors and IFA's
  • Working closely with colleagues in marketing, content, digital, social and propositions teams for integrated campaigns
  • Monitoring daily coverage and producing a regular round-up for key stakeholders
  • Providing support in organising small and large-scale business-related press events (when appropriate)

 

The successful candidate:

  • Financial services experience is essential, asset management knowledge would be ideal
  • Proven in-house/agency media relations or journalism background
  • Excellent writing, analytical and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of the issues that impact retail investors and IFA's in the UK is preferred
  • Experience of developing and managing PR campaigns and achieving coverage in the national press
