A fantastic opportunity has arisen with my client a major financial services provider for a high calibre candidate to join their Global Quantitative Analytics group (QA). This part of the business is responsible for the research, development and implementation of quantitative models.

Role Responsibilities

This role will provide support and ownership of trading book modelling projects across for the QA Trading Book Risk, Markets, and Central Teams. As a project support role, the specific accountabilities and specific projects worked on will vary over time according to QA priorities, but accountabilities will include:

* Participate in workshops with model owners to define and challenge modelling options against requirements and alignment with QA's overall model strategy
* Assist define the end to end model development plan outlining project scope, data collection, model development and model approval activities in line with the Bank's model risk policies and standards;
* Participate in discussions with Technology partners to analyse and define data and system solutions with the integration of QA functionality;
* Review and input QA requirements and dependencies as part of Technology implementation plans; and
* Work with QA development teams and other team members to communicate project status, risk and issues to a wider range of stakeholders across QA, Risk and Technology

Person Specification

* Broad knowledge of quantitative models and how they are used; with at least some experience with traded risk or valuation models
* Ability to quickly distil information from a wide range of sources and see the big picture
* Proactively identify issues and solutions, knowing when to escalate
* A keen eye for detail with good organisational skills to enable clear and concise project planning and understand dependencies
* Ability to think independently and provide challenge
* Self starter, motivated and disciplined with a flexible approach to work to adapt to changing priorities
* Effective and clear communication skills, both written and oral
* Work independently or within a team environment as required.

Desirable skills

* Experience of model design and implementation projects
* Familiar with capital requirements regulation
* Experience of business process change
* Experience in project management role within a large multi-national banking environment
* Proven deliverer, able to demonstrate successful deliveries and full project lifecycle experience, spanning multiple stakeholders across multiple geographies
