Job Purpose
Newton is looking to hire a new business development professional to help drive and execute on its growth strategy in the important UK charity sector. It currently manages c.£4bn of charity client assets, and seeks to expand on that strong base. As an integral and important part of the specialist Newton charity team, the individual will be responsible for extending the reach of Newton's relationships across the client sector, enhancing it's profile as a 'go to' house for charity investment solutions, and more widely, coordination and execution of new business opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report into and work closely with Head of Charities, but work closely also with the wider charity client and investment team. Responsibilities will include:
  • Via consensus with charity team leadership, developing, honing, coordinating and executing a charity business development strategy
  • Helping to shape marketing strategy for the charity business
  • Levering the opportunity to directly influence charity investors in the UK with a view to garnering long-term interaction, leading to new business
  • Clear direction and documentation of the strategic business development execution, including monitoring progress against objectives.
  • All routes to client to apply - directly targeted approaches, consultant/intermediary awareness, networking and conferencing, individual and umbrella groups, online campaigns.
  • Ongoing client relationship work a possibility
  • Influencing the Charity media via PR
  • Representing Newton on industry/sector groups and bodies, maintenance of relationships with the same
  • Ensuring optimum look/feel of RFP materials and sales aids.

Previous experience within the charity/not for profit sector (working for a charitable organization or within a business dedicated to serving the sector) would be an advantage. Comfort networking with trustees of charities large, medium and small. An understanding of investment management services and products is essential
