Cohen Brothers is seeking a managing director to conduct alternative investment and mutual fund sales to professional investors in the Nordics. The position is based in the Nordics or in London.

Cohen Brothers is an established international placement agent with sales staff in Copenhagen, London (Head Office), Madrid, Milan, Paris and Tel-Aviv.

The firm works for global and emerging fund managers. It raises capital from professional investors, both institutional investors and family offices around the world, in all private asset strategies, including venture capital, private equity and debt, infrastructure and real estate, and in long only asset classes.

The firm is looking for one full time managing director with sales responsibilities to Nordic institutional investors and family offices.

What is offered is not an employment with a fixed salary but a franchise with a significant share of success fees and a share of retainer fees as salary. This is suitable to senior executives in financial services with 10 to 20 years-experience. It is not a position suitable for junior executives.

The candidate will execute fund placements in the Nordics, based upon his existing investor relationships and his prospection of new investors, participate in the search for new managers, gather business intelligence, comply with the regulatory requirements of the business and report to the CEO.

Selected candidates will get immediate access to Cohen Brothers vast deal flow of fund placement assignments, be part of an international team of experienced individuals, benefit from the firm’s commercial achievements, investor research, IT, business, compliance and legal organization.

The candidate will be an entrepreneurial, independent senior finance executive. He will have a private fund business development background as sales or investor relations, a portfolio of professional investor relationships in the territory, the highest level of integrity, a full knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, a master’s degree education and a strong English writing & speaking ability.

The candidate will be a Nordic native. He/ she will be immediately operational and able to implement the company’s fund placement contracts in the region with a high level of autonomy.

Key requirements for the job: private fund sales or investment management experience, the offer applies only to candidates with a minimum 10-year experience. For the sake of clarity, it does not apply to candidates with an M&A or brokerage experience only and to juniors. Applications that do not meet such criteria will not be answered.
