OTC Onboarding Team Leader - Derivative Support

Investment Operations is a central function within Investment, reporting to the Investment COO and with a global remit. The division provides support to all investment teams in the Schroders Asset Management Business, aiming to ensure succinct operational processes are maintained whist enabling business growth, contributing to data improvements, managing risk and simplifying business process.


Job Statement


The primary responsibility of the OTC Onboarding team is to enable all OTC Derivatives trading between internal and external parties. The role involves setting up trading relationships with FX brokers, OTC Clearing Brokers, OTC Bilateral counterparties and Prime Brokers. The team is responsible for setting-up operational data in core systems and the position requires extensive liaison with Traders, Fund Managers, Derivative Operations, Data Services, external brokers, and other external service providers.

 

Overview of key duties


• Manage and coordinate all OTC onboarding, opening accounts both internally and with external market vendors, from inception to trading go live:


• OTC Bilateral
• OTC Cleared
• Prime broker
• FX


• Management of OTC legal documentation associated with onboarding i.e. CDEAs, Clearing/ reporting agreements and quarterly accessions
• Management of multiple email boxes, used for both internal and external queries
• Oversee the teams Work in Progress (WIP) logs, ensuring deadlines are always met
• Oversee and approve the production and publication of the fund & counterparty permitted trading list to investment teams, ensuring front office have regular updates
• Ensure all risks are recorded and escalated where appropriate
• Own and instruct compliance coding for all derivative products
• Collation and maintenance of collateral preferences
• Manage team workloads, provide regular status updates and monthly reports to management team
• Maintain accurate data in internal databases and external platforms like: FXAll, FX Connect, TradeWeb, Traiana, DTCC, Markitwire
• Assist with any process improvement, ensure operating guidelines are met and controls are accurately completed

Personal Profile


• OTC Derivatives experience
• Team leader experience preferred
• Aladdin platforms experience preferred but not essential
• Can work on own initiative and under pressure, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
• Motivated and enthusiastic - focussed on continuous improvement, quality and delivery
• Able to work collaboratively across teams, to tight deadlines and provide regular progress updates
• Effective written, presentational and verbal skills
