To support the wholesale bank in developing, implementing and embedding the operational risk framework tools and methodologies, therefore enabling the first line of defence to identify, assess and where appropriate mitigate the division's major operational risk exposures.

Description

The main responsibilities of the Core Ops Risk first line team in respect of operational risk are to;

Manage material operational risk exposures and activities in the division in line with operational risk appetite, framework, policies and procedures and other controls including:

Development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of business processes, procedures, systems and tools that ensure employees adhere to internal / external regulation

Delivery of risk remediation plans to agreed timescales and quality, including risk mitigations, controls and actions

Ensure controls and other mitigations are effective in managing the risk

Ensure material risk is actively monitored through the capture and recording of associated key risk indicators, loss data and risk assessments

Ensure operational risk responsibilities are incorporated into the role profiles, job descriptions, performance development and training plans for all Division staff

Responsibility for embedding the 1st Line Operational Risk Framework

Ensuring that the business and support functions are made aware of, embed and comply with ORM Group requirements

Providing guidance, advice and support on Operational Risk matters to the business and support functions

Providing Operational Risk training, education and information to business heads, their operational risk champions and key resources

Carry out quality assurance checks on input and output data of the OR Scenarios

Ensure that corresponding/appropriate metrics/KRIs, challenge thresholds, review ratings and trends are in place

Ensure timely completion of KRI standard templates for key indicators and their validation

Profile

Track record in financial services - investment and/or wholesale banking experience essential

Experience working in operational risk management - 1st LOD experience essential

Track record embedding operational risk processes, methodology and policy in to a business

Experience producing KRI and KPI reports for 1st, 2nd and 3rd line defence areas

Knowledge of wholesale banking products
