The position holder will be responsible for the administration of all aspects of the Financial Trading Group activities in a timely and accurate manner. The position holder will develop thorough knowledge of fixed income and OTC derivative transactions and related documentation, tax and regulatory implications. In addition trade confirmation and settlement, funding, implementing new trading structures and initiatives and ensuring controls are in place for the confirmation and settlement process.

Cargill’s Trade and Structured Finance (TSF) business compliments the efforts of Cargill commodity business groups by providing financial solutions to Cargill’s business partners (suppliers and buyers).  TSF’s experience and expertise in global financial markets aid in mitigating documentary, cross-border and credit risks associated with structured trade finance.  TSF plays a key role in funding the global operations of Cargill through cross-border funding structures and management of transferability and convertibility risks.  TSF also leverages Cargill’s international trade flows to create trade structures that provide funding to emerging market-based financial institutions and corporations.  In additional to structured trade finance, internal funding, and international trade flows, TSF also maintains a Financial Trading Group (FTG) which focuses primarily on emerging markets fixed income and OTC derivatives trading.

Main Tasks:

  • Execution of all Financial Trading Group trades in adherence to Cargill’s standard operating procedures
  • Manage all aspects of trade confirmation, trade life-cycle events, settlement and collateral management
  • Reviewing trade documentation to ensure global regulatory requirements are adhered to 
  • Communicate with global counter parties to ensure trade breaks are resolved in an accurate and timely manner
  • Second review and verification of trades (system input, documentation, approvals) & cash payments (amounts, value, dates and bank details)
  • Liaise with other functional groups including traders, trade execution teams, accounting and treasury to resolve execution issues
  • Develop a deep understanding of relevant Financial Trading Group activities, including key risks and controls, tax, legal and regulatory implications
  • Facilitate innovation and work process improvements though idea generation and application of business knowledge
  • Participate in global projects where appropriate


  • University degree in a relevant subject area, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics and proven business experience
  • Strong understanding of financial trading businesses
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal control structure and compliance
  • Proven communication skills in fluent and written English and able to communicate to a variety of stakeholders globally
  • Able to work in a team environment and apply expertise to overall team objectives but also able to work independently
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Flexibility to meet the changing demands of the business and work flexible hours in line with business needs
  • Demonstrates accuracy and detail in work
  • Fully proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to fixed income and OTC derivatives markets would be preferred
  • Exposure to ISDA, CSA and GMRA documentation would be preferred
  • Experience of using financial markets trading and settlement systems such as FxALL, Bloomberg, Markitwire and DTCC would be advantageous
  • Experience implementing new systems, processes, procedures and controls
