This role reports to Trade Execution and Settlements Manager and is responsible for monitoring settlement activity for Equities and Fixed Income ensuring fails management is effectively performed to mitigate risk.

Key Objectives

› Monitor Settlement activity for Equities and Fixed Income ensuring fails management is effectively performed to mitigate risk.


Responsibilities to include (but not limited to): 


› Handle multi-currency transactions related to settlement of Fixed Income and equity trading
› Attention to detail and the ability to hit tight deadlines are crucial.
› Accurately identify failing trades and ensure the relevant parties are chased for settlement.
› Assist in monitoring and organizing team communications.
› Provide coverage and support to various team members.
› Assist with related activities within areas of Settlement & Reconciliation.

Other:

› Keep Current – (market conditions, regulation, SEI products and services, etc) and maintain ongoing and effective communication and alignment of these with client business practices.  
› Maintenance and updating of internal systems/ data reference points in agreed format to ensure consistency and communication of relevant information within the team and ensure integrity of data.
› Any other ad-hoc projects as required.

Technical Capabilities/Skills & Experience Required for the Role:

› Ideally degree (or equivalent) educated with experience in financial services.
› Process orientated with strong attention to detail.
› Effective written and verbal communication skills.
› Self-motivated and willing to learn.
› Fidessa knowledge -  Crest, Euroclear, DTC and European markets settlements
› Knowledge and experience with trading and settlement of both Mutual Funds and a particular emphasis on equities.
› Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
› Excellent time management & organisational skills
› Knowledge & experience of cash and stock reconciliations would be an advantage.
› Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook 
› Knowledge of Euclid, HSBCnet, Fundsettle are advantageous
› Team oriented
