An established Hedge Fund, seen as market leaders in their space, are looking to make a newly created hire.
Whilst the firm have a large AUM, they are a boutique sized firm that have had minimal attrition since launch. This is as a result of a great business model, culture and work life balance, in addition to the fact that employees are looked after very well financially. The hire will replace an individual moving internally in to a Front Office aligned role. As such you will take on his remit covering Operations, Middle Office and Desk Assistant responsibilities. Example responsibilities are P&L reporting and analysis (directly working with the CIO + PM’s – the flat structure of the firm and set up means that you’ll have data/analysis discussions with the PM’s on a daily basis), NAV oversight, treasury/cash & margin, Portfolio analysis (an important part of the role will be to perform detailed analysis on fund + market performance, with data being provided/presented directly to the Investment desk and the fund’s clients). You will report directly in to the COO and will play a key role assisting on major infrastructure development projects / build outs.
We are looking for a bright graduate, with junior level experience in an Investment Bank (have completed/completing a graduate scheme) or a Hedge Fund line support role. My client will invest a lot of time in the individual to train them up, allowing them to progress internally after 2yrs, hence the preference is to hire somebody junior. You must have a passion for financial markets and will have a deep interest to learn from the Portfolio Managers and Traders that you’ll sit with.
The base salary will most likely cap out at 60k. A top performer will earn a large % of that number as a bonus payment, meaning that the total comp package available will be at the top end of the market. The benefits package is arguably market leading for a fund of its size.
