My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank is looking to hire an Operations Manager responsible for leading a global team to manage Instrument and Client Static reference Data in a central Security Master environment for the Equities Front office. The role is pivotal to the creation and management of the team and requires the creation of the operational process and procedures required to run an effective data management team across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and leading a global team to manage all reference data (Instrument, Client, Book, Product, etc.) housed in the Reference Data platform “Quorum” supporting the Equities Front Office
  • Building the team to become stewards for Equities Front office data
  • Defining and implementing the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Operational Level Agreement (OLA) for data management across the Equities Front office by partnering with competing stake holders of data
  • Ensuring the relevant risks, issues, actions, costs, schedules, benefits and other related artefacts are documented and tracked
  • Implementing Data Governance across the Equities Front Office and to the larger banks by working alongside the Chief Data office
  • Defining Data Quality Framework, metrics, Key Performance Indicator’s (KPIs) for data quality
  • Evaluating tools and techniques in order to continue to improve data quality
  • Managing Data Vendor relationships
  • Managing the Data Partnerships with Enterprise Data and other Internal Data Vendors within the bank and pushing for Equity Front Office interests

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience within financial services in a data management (operations) role
  • Experience with instrument, client and other reference data within a Capital Markets line of business in a bank
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Previous experience with databases is beneficial and the ability to write Structured Query Language (SQL) queries
  • Organised, structured, strong attention to detail with demonstrable ability to break down complex problems into phased deliverables
  • Flexible and comfortable in an international environment/matrix organisation
  • Proven experience in mentoring and coaching teams
  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or above
  • MSP™ (Managing Successful Programmes) Foundation, Practitioner & Advanced qualifications
