From introducing the first UK prepaid card in 2005, to being the first non-bank to offer a current account, they havebeen ahead of the curve for as long as they have been around. 

 The Role

The PMO Manager will be responsible for both refining and maintaining core governance processes and frameworks to support the business transformation projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring robust yet flexible processes and standards for project managers to follow, allowing them to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient manner.

The successful candidate is expected to exhibit accurate and confident decision making, the ability to interpret ambiguity and possess strong stakeholder engagement techniques across all levels of seniority.

As PMO Manager - You’ll be responsible for

  • Own project governance end to end from roadmap coordination to workstream delivery communication
  • Work with head of product delivery to ensure Capex is closely managed and communicated monthly
  • Own the project office reporting, collating key stats such as status and quality and turning into senior management presentations
  • Ensure integration of governance across work streams
  • Provide standardisation as much as possible to facilitate common sets of practices, principles and templates for managing projects
  • Create a centre of excellence for project management and provide guidance and coaching to project managers. Work with wider stakeholders across the business to manage consistency across projects not being led by Digital Delivery team
  • Establish a PMO Stakeholder Engagement plan and implement a communication framework
  • Ensure projects are aligned with overall business strategy
  •  Gathering of project data and production of MI for exec review:
    • Track the status of all projects in the organisation based on standardised updates from the project managers
  • Managing and facilitating the overall project management process:
    • Capturing project requests and ensuring each request has sufficient information to assess the project
    • Keeping an up-to-date repository of projects underway and requests pending review
    • Implementing scoring and prioritisation models to help assess which requests should be approved
    • Managing a resource capacity plan or resource forecast to help understand resource availability for projects
    • Quality review key governance documents
    • Ensure key project inter-dependencies are communicated/understood between donor/recipient projects/parties
    • Facilitate workshops (e.g. Risk/Dependency/Planning) when required
  • Proactively engage with the Finance team to review and improve the programme / projects finance reporting

 

You’ll have

  • Proven PMO and project management experience across full project lifecycle
  • Experience maintaining and refining a PMO function
  • Experience in working with a range of project management methodologies and of leading the use of core project management processes and controls
  • Experience in developing, tracking and reporting project plans and budgets
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor and support personal development of direct reports and other team members where appropriate
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
  • Ability to manage conflicts as they arise and work in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

  • Experience working in financial services, payment organisations, Banks or an understanding of working in a regulatory environment
  • Ability to work in a matrixed reporting environment
  • Knowledge of project management tools
