Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Responsible for running a proprietary trading book, focused on the European power and gas markets.
- Take a model-based / quantitative approach, trading on the UK and Continental Europe markets.
- Generate consistent and steady revenue / PnL / returns, rather than trading with large PnL swings.
- Make markets and provide pricing to the existing client base as well as generating new relationships with power and gas corporates.
- Reports into the Head of Desk / Business Partner
Key Qualifications / Experience
- At least 4 years’ experience trading UK / European power and gas on a speculative proprietary basis (market making / customer pricing experience is advantageous).
- Proven PnL record with consistent returns / profits
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills as well as experience using a model-based strategy to minimise risk.
- Develop and implement a well-defined process/business plan for generating trading ideas and mitigating risk.
- Role will be located in the UK, London
