Project Manager

The Opportunity:

The Product Delivery Portfolio, within Transformation and Technology, has been created to pull together the teams involved in delivery of new products, new mandates and product changes to the Equities, Wholesale and Fixed Income businesses. The Portfolio consists of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Support resources. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Project Manager, to manage product related projects (which could entail a fund launch, a new mandate launch or a change to an existing fund product). The successful applicant will work closely with the other teams in the Product Delivery Portfolio.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

* Manage product delivery projects from design through to launch, e.g. fund launches, share class launches, fund changes. The successful candidate will be required to motivate a multi-disciplined team of M&G (and/or external) representatives to ensure the project delivers on time and within budget.
* Ability to take a hands-on role within the project, working with fund managers and investment professionals in Operations, Compliance, Marketing, Legal, etc.
* Manage senior stakeholders.
* Build successful relationships with the project delivery partners, including external legal counsel, fund administrator, trustee / custodian and auditor.
* Manage projects that deliver benefit to M&G Front Office; these are product delivery projects, rather than IT change projects.

What we are looking for:

You will have strong project management experience within investment management with an understanding of different approaches / methodologies. As well as this, it is important for you to have a proven track record of successfully leading on, and delivering projects within a front office environment and across a wide range of functions, specifically including fund launches. Exceptional communication skills are a must - both written and verbal, with excellent active listening skills. It is also essential for you to have strong influencing and negotiating skills with an ability to manage a variety of stakeholders. You will be willing to work to tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects, taking into account evolving business priorities. Strong analytical skills and proven problem solving skills are both highly important attributes for this role, alongside the ability to negotiate pragmatic solutions to meet conflicting business requirements.

You will be highly motivated, proactive and resilient. It is essential for you to have the ability to be flexible and to manage ambiguity during project delivery. You must be a team player and be able to work with and through others. You will also be able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation, with strong relationship management skills. Good investment and asset class knowledge is a must, as well as a good awareness of related regulations (e.g. UCITS, AIFMD, MiFID II etc.)

The following qualifications are ideal be not obligatory: IMC and a project management qualification, such as Prince 2.
