Project Manager - Legal Project Experience - HSBC

This is a 12 month contract based in London

Project Brief:

The role will be assigned to the Regulatory & Mandatory Change team to lead a small project of coordination with regards to Legal Risk Remediation. This will require substantial cross business and jurisdictional coordination.

Role Purpose:

The job-holder will carry out the project management of a small projects within the HSS Regulatory & Mandatory Change team.

A primary objective is to ensure projects are delivered within the timescales and to budget, highlighting and resolving issues as they arise. Additionally, a consistent and professional approach to project management is essential with particular attention to the risk profile of the project delivery and the subsequent operational model.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide or support high quality project delivery services in line with the strategic objectives of the business
  • To provide lead input to the department's contribution to the business area's balanced score card
  • To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with HSS clients and their Third Parties
  • To implement new business and existing business change to timescale, budget and to the requisite standard and quality
  • To develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with business colleagues in support of project delivery
  • To identify and mitigate project risks with an objective of zero defects once business transferred to the live environment; in addition to manage and mitigate the impacts of issues where they arise.
  • Dependent on assignment, to manage and develop a team of staff who are responsible for supporting and facilitating delivery of projects either within the Department or as a collective project team from across the business.
  • To maintain an awareness of topical market issues and in particular changes to legislation in Financial Services

  • Proven experience of working on a regulatory change programme
  • Investment Banking experience
  • Operational experience
  • Proven experience of working on legal workstreams
  • Proven experience of working closely with legal teams
  • Global remit experience
  • Proven experience of inferring quality from data sets
