Project Manager - Project Execution

Principal Responsibilities of Project Manager

  • Define and lead large scale global change programmes and business transformation, with end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of the programme - definition and planning, mobilisation, and management of analysis, development, implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Globally lead the change initiative, enable and facilitate strategic decisions that result in practical action, and operate effectively at executive stakeholder level.
  • Work closely with related Portfolio or Group teams to ensure alignment of their programme with the wider change portfolio strategy.
  • Play a people or team management role within the programmes they work on, including potentially having line management responsibility for a group of more junior resources.
  • Act as a change leader with the business leadership and business sponsor, with a visible and clear leader for the programme and the delivery of its outcomes and benefits.
  • Demonstrate effective financial skills to develop and manage a detailed business case, including investments, detailed benefits and link to overall finances of the business.
  • Plan and manage implementation to ensure business benefits are realised and that the transition from current state to target state is smooth, and formally embedded into BAU.
  • Identify and remove barriers to programme success. Always acts in the HSBC's best interests and willing to openly discuss potentially difficult topics
  • Oversee the development, socialisation and ongoing active management of a well-defined programme plan, including internal and external dependencies
  • Identify programme resource requirements that will build effective international and multi-disciplinary teams

Requirements

  • Experience of mobilising and managing change in a Global Investment Banking environment
  • Experience working in a Banking and Markets Front Office environment
  • Deep programme management skills and experience of driving complex, global, business-critical programmes at pace
  • Ability to make key strategic decisions that are pragmatic and grounded in practical solutions
  • Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective
  • Clear commercial focus with strong financial acumen
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
  • Strong people and team management experience
